COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
At the Elgin Business Resource Centre (EBRC) we know that successful and sustainable businesses build strong communities, and that strong communities support successful and sustainable businesses. We invest in community-based projects and events that attract local tourism, showcase cultural heritage, promote local businesses, encourage shopping locally, and foster entrepreneurial spirit in our youth.
EBRC proudly collaborates with community organizations and leaders to make our communities in Elgin County a better place to live and do business. As partners, committee members, or part of a task force, we participate in economic development planning, strategic planning, and project planning. We share our resources, skills and expertise and facilitate connections. Together, we facilitate prosperity and strengthen our communities.
HELEN LEFRANK SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Helen LeFrank was General Manager at EBRC from 1999 to 2007. One of her passions was encouraging youth in our community, in particular, youth entrepreneurship.
HEALTHY WORKPLACE AWARDS
The Elgin St. Thomas Public Health Unit (ESTPHU) initiated the Health at Work 4 All! program to promote a culture of health in workplaces. Born from that program are the Healthy Workplace Awards.
