A new fiscal year is here, and we can’t help but look back at everything we’ve accomplished over the past 12 months. It’s been a big year! A Year of Growth and Innovation
January marked the 10th annual The Pitch finale. Five finalists ‘pitched’ their business idea to a panel of judges in front of a live audience. Evelyn’s Sausage Kitchen won $50,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. The biggest prize package ever! To enter next year’s competition, contact EBRC, as we will start accepting applications in early September. It’s not too early to work with our business advisors to prepare.
Another highlight has been the launch of our new podcast, where we dive into honest conversations with real business owners. The overwhelming response proves that local entrepreneurs crave real, relatable discussions about what matters to running a business.

We understand the challenges of running a business, which is why we offer business advice tailored to your unique needs.
We also provide business loans from new start-ups to large established businesses. Since our inception, EBRC has granted hundreds of loans to local businesses totaling over $36M. We can help your business when banks and other traditional lending institutions are unavailable or cannot meet your needs.

Our annual general meeting is in June, where we’ll discuss EBRC’s impact and our vision for the future. We look forward to awarding six businesses that are making a difference in St. Thomas or Elgin County and announce the recipient of the Helen LeFrank Scholarship.
